Hecq ‎– 0000

“0000” is a double album from Hecq aka Ben Lukas Boysen. An artist, that has gotten himself quite a name in the ambient – industrial field. His projects' range covers ambient – modern classical, abstract – idm and industrial, dubstep /breakore (along with the wave) and album remixes from different electronic genres. Our ears have been captured though to his micro-manipulated mechanics and steady yet complex rhythm beautifully recorded on “0000”. His especial sound and beat rhythm is delivered here with discrete yet engaging ambiences.

Sound quality is present in all of Hecq’s compositions and reconstructions and won’t be missed here either. The first part of the album is the actual original work from Hecq and in the second part we have some of his tracks remixed by several other artists plus 3 collaborations (vs tracks). It is in the second part that we have some melody implementation that tilts some tracks to idm. Hecq’s first part is deeply abstract and ambient mostly in rhythm with his signature mechanics. Introducing at start himself with ambience and rather steady beats he advances adding more and more complexity. He then merges modern classical themed soundscapes to his mechanics, with the latter slowly disappearing from the scene letting the ambient compositions to perform the ending.

From total 27 tracks in this double album we have concluded to '0003', '0006', '0007', '0008', '0012', '0013', '0014', '0016', '0008 [connine calm remix by mad ep]', '0013 [nebulo remix]', 'sknss [vs snong]' and 'dayout [vs ginormous]' as our favorite.
