Well Von Magnet describe their music as electroflamenco. Especially with "De L'Aimant" we couldn't agree more. Of course the electro aspect on the album is quite undermined but Mimetic, the beat-mechanic of the group at that time, does a great job embedding masterfully his sounds to the acoustic recordings. The constructions familiarize with ritual, tribal and industrial music while the guitars bring the flamenco side of the album on our headphones delivering a plethora of rhythms. Von's and Magnet's voices are strong and theatrical.
Von Magnet made their appearance the mid 80s emerging from the post-industrial scene and securing their space in it. Flamenco is not their main theme in all their albums. "El planeta" is an excellent specimen of their eastern approach where Mimetic implements his sound more. Throughout their time Von Magnet stick with the electronic fuse of different culture patterns, theater and visuals.
Ένας χώρος κατάμεστος, ώρες ατέλειωτες να περιφέρονται κορμιά όλων των ηλικιών. Λες και είναι το κέντρο του κόσμου. Σαν την ερμού ένα πράμα. Αλλά πολλούς του ξαναβλέπεις μια, δυο ίσως και τρεις φορές. Δεν είναι απλή περατζάδα, αφιερώνουν χρόνο εδώ. Μερικοί νομίζουν πως είναι και σπίτι τους. Αλλά ποσό μακριά είναι. Τι να πουν και οι σκιές της νύχτας που όταν αδειάζει οργώνουν το μέρος να το κάνουν να λάμπει για την επόμενη μέρα. Τραγούδια, φωνές και γέλια όλα δικά τους. Σαν να τους ανήκει. Μπορούν να φτύνουν και να χέζουν στο πάτωμα. Τι τους νοιάζει. Αυτοί θα τα καθαρίσουν μετά. Γιατί όντως δεν είναι δικό τους. Σε άλλους ανήκει. Και καλά κάνει. Δεν αξίζει μια ούτος η άλλως. Κακό χρόνο να χει... μαλάκες.
