Soul Oddity - Tone Capsule

Astralwerks , 1996
October 2nd, 2013

Experimental electro - techno from the deep 90s is what "Tone Capsule" appears to be. We have rhythmic challenges with analogue and monotone (mostly) bubbles and bleeps creatively mixing together. The moody and mainly «cheerful» outcome provides a groovy feeling with only a few danceable instances cause of the - don't forget - experimental element. But in reality from the first seconds of Soul Oddity's "Tone Capsule" we appear to make alien contact.

Yes, little strange shaped figures moving convulsive (danc.y.) along with the sound they produce. They are trying to communicate with us by tonality bleeping. Some joyful, other sad and few frustrated for some reason. The only sure thing is that they got the move and we must get to it also if we truly want to understand them.

Electro, techno, hip hop, disco elements that someone will surely notice doesn't say anything on an outcome that just sounds odd for placing it easily under a label. And if there is one out there we shouldn't care less because we choose to stand with the strange.

So... Oddities. From "Welcome Back To Earth" and "Little Alien" to "Clipped", "Cruxx" and of course "Soul Communication", we have plenty of them. Take care of our brothers.
