Mnemonic - Monokultur

Mnemonic is a long standing project, formerly(?) a duo, that emerged with a great mixture of EBM and idm but gradually evolved to a deep melodic idm act. With "Monokultur" we stand somewhere in the middle. There are no vocals, keyboard tunes dominate most tracks' structure and hard and complex beats build impressive rhythms. Most of the melodies are melancholic though graceful with strong atmospheres but after the first three quarters the tracks are getting somewhat a little joyful and empty.
The political(ish) titles make you want to combine your thoughts with the music imaginatively although they are too general and wide to make a grasp. As said before we stand in the middle because we don't really like the melodic standard that is acquired after "Monokultur".

«Δε μπορώ άλλο τις ευαισθησίες σου» ήταν η τελευταία του φράση (μισογελώντας) ύστερα από μια ολόκληρη μέρα στην οποία έβρισκε συνέχεια αφορμές να δοκιμάσει το εύρος του μυαλού και της προσοχής της. Με αυτήν την φράση κάτι έσπασε μέσα της. Δεν μίλησε αυτή τη φορά. Λίγες ώρες μετά ξυπνάει από ένα τρέμουλο στο κρεβάτι και αντιλαμβάνεται τα οπίσθιά της στο πρόσωπο του μόλις που τελείωναν να ενεργούν (το δεύτερο). «Έχεις δίκιο, για σένα από δω και πέρα θα κρατάω μόνο τις ακαθαρσίες μου» του είπε χαμογελώντας και ελαφρώς συγκινημένη.

It's like a door was crossed on the last tracks and the dark, heavy yet emotional sound is left behind. The "Konstruktive Vergangenheitsbewaltigung"(a little ear here) era is long gone. But we surely have a firm grip of tracks like "political absurdity", "Egoism / Egoist", "Social Downfall", "Envy" and "Intellect Liberation" that "MonoKultur" unveiled us.
